Website, Suites, New Puppy

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Laura Glass @ 3:28 pm

Great month of March! I closed seven loans and a total of twelve for the entire Gunter branch. April is looking positive, as of today four loans have closed.

Working on a lauraglass.com website to help increase my SEO rating and capture more mortgage loans in Sherman and Denison. A website in my name will allow me to link to Twitter, Facebook, Gunter Chamber of Commerce, BNI, etc. I am researching www.domaindiscover.com who hosts our e-mail accounts. More next week on this subject.

We have a new puppy! Black and white Border Collie. Chuck and I decided to name her Judy! She is cute! Judy will definitely be herding the cows!

Chuck and I own Brooks Plaza in Gunter. We have seven suites and one of our leaser’s is leaving us. Therefore, I now have a suite available. I hope to attract Fitness, dry cleaning, Dr. Office, etc. would lease this suite!

Again, Sherman Texas I want your mortgage business!

Until next time…

Sherman, TX. and Mortgage Loans

Dr. Sam Nechamkin, one of our Sherman BNI members asked me to present a short presentation to all of the members on Wednesday. Pondering over what to present, I came upon the idea “Reach out and touch someone”. Is old fashion marketing out? No, it plays an essential role in today’s marketing. True, e-mail, blogging, internet marketing is the latest rage, so is good old fashion hand written letters or notes via slow mail. I will open a hand written envelope from a bank before opening one with a mailing label. In fact, most of what we mail from First United Bank Mortgage in Gunter is HAND WRITTEN! We do get calls from our marketing efforts.

Anyway, this brought to my attention how well are we marketing to prospects in Sherman, TX.  and other North Texas towns? I have recently lost a couple of deals to another mortgage company. So, it’s time to boost our marketing efforts in Sherman, Denison, Celina, Prosper, Van Alstyne, Howe, Anna, Melissa, Frisco, Whitesboro, Whitewright, Collinsville, Gainesville, and you name the town. I do and will continue to get the best mortgage loan for those clients.

Sherman reminds me of Michael Hodson who is financial Advisor located in Sherman, TX. Michael specializes in Educator’s. Lost count of the number of Sherman and Denison Teacher’s I have helped throughout the years with their mortgage needs. Michael, thank you for those referrals!

Wish me luck tomorrow on my “Reach out and touch someone” presentation and spread the word, I am targeting Sherman, TX. for mortgage loans!

Back from California!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Laura Glass @ 2:51 pm

I got back into Gunter last night after a 5-day trip to Southern California. Hear this morning about the earthquake. My mother who lives in Covina says the earthquake happened because I left to return to Texas!

Back to my potential clients who need mortgage loans from First United Bank Mortgage in Grayson County. Clients this week are in Howe, Sherman, Van Alstyne, Gunter, McKinney, and Broken Bow.

I have a new website to follow and I am attaching News you can us from their website. It is my electrician’s site, www.gravleyelectric.com. Rocky is located in Gunter, TX. 75058 and has been doing my electrical for years. I highly recommend him. Anyway, enjoy the news you can use!

May is Electrical Safety Month

And we would like you to consider these numbers from the United States Fire Administration (USFA):

  • 28,300 – Estimated number of electrical residential fires each year!
  • $ 995 Million – Estimated property loss from electrical fires each year!
  • 360 – Estimated deaths due to electrical fires each year!

Some simple things you can do to avoid electrical hazards:

  • Replace or repair loose or frayed cords on all electrical devices.
  • Avoid running extension cords across doorways or under carpets.
  • In homes with small children, unused wall sockets and extension-cord receptacles should have plastic safety covers.
  • Consider having additional circuits or outlets added by a licensed electrical contractor, so you do not have to use extension cords.
  • Avoid overloading outlets. Plug only one high-wattage appliance into each receptacle outlet at a time.
  • If outlets or switches feel warm, shut off the circuit and have them checked by an electrician.
  • Place lamps on level surfaces, away from things that can burn and use bulbs that match the lamp’s recommended wattage.

Off to California

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Laura Glass @ 4:30 pm

Locking loans today as the rates are great! Unfortunately, several calls from clients today left me wondering when the economy will improve. These calls or talks consisted of existing mortgage problems, possible foreclosure’s, or bankrupts. In one day four different people, all with the same type of problem.  It’s a sad thing for folks who are suffering from issues beyond their control. All I can do is listen and try to advise the best solution based on their situation.

On a Happy Note!

Looking forward to my So. California trip tomorrow. I am going to visit my friend Priscilla for a few days. Really looking forward to going to the Rose Bowl Flea Market. I do love flea markets. Five days of fun and relaxation.

My BNI presentation last week was rescheduled to this week. I gave my presentation yesterday to all of the BNI members. I think it went well and not as BORING as I thought it would be.

This week has been extremely productive. We have so many applications in the pipeline for the month. It’s an exciting time of year. Building relationships with Realtors and Builders is so important in the Mortgage world. Pays off, big time!

Two new facebook fan pages have opened this week; I encourage you to join even if you don’t live in Gunter. They are excellent sites and even highlight a business of the week. Here’s the links:
